  a.  Open Internet Explorer.
Go to a Web page containing text you want.
Click the Edit menu and click Select All.
Then, click the Edit menu and click Copy.

  b.  Open NotePad   [Start, Programs, Assessories, NotePad]
Click the Edit menu and click Paste.
All text is left-justified. Some text will be junk that you can delete.
When done editing, click the File menu and click Save.
Select a folder for your file, name the file and click Save.

2.  SAVE WEB PAGE

This method will not work on a HOMESTEAD Web page.
Don't try it on the DOG Web site.

  a.  Open Internet Explorer.
Go to a Web page containing text you want.

  b.  Click on the File menu, choose Save As.

  c.  A window will open, titled Save Web Page.  See the picture below.
  d.  Using the Save Web Page window:

In the Save in: box, click the down-arrow and select a folder for the file.

In the File name: box, decide whether you want to accept the name
shown. You can change the name by typing over the name shown.

In the Save as type: box, click the down-arrow and choose
            Text File (*.txt)

Click the Save button.   Wait until the file transfer is done.

  e.  Open the text file on your computer.

       Open your word processor, or
open Windows WordPad [Start, Programs, Accessories, Wordpad]

Click on the File menu, choose Open.
Select the the folder you specified above.
Click on the filename that was transferred to your computer.
Click on the Open button to see the text.

  f.  Edit the text.

There will be text you don't want - highlight and delete it.  The text may be indented so text formatting will be needed. If you wish, change the font.  Then,
save the file
.  If you print it, you will avoid any printing problems usually associated with printing Web pages!

NOTE ABOUT USING MICROSOFT WORD 97 OR LATER

After removing the unwanted text, highlight all the text (CTRL A) and then press Ctrl-Alt-K. This command will cause Word to reformat the text and remove all hard returns. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-K again may reformat the text to fix your margins.
